Forget Winter Blues
Chattering teeth, shivering body? Welcome winters!! Winters may have its benefits but the icy winds and freezing weather, that leaves the skin dry with chapped and cracked lips, makes it one of the least desired weathers for me!
Winters have always been cruel and harsh on my skin especially my lips. Well, let's give a tough fight to the tough weather this season. Let's stand tall against it and fight back by following simple skin care routine that may make the season exquisite and leave it worth appreciating.
Moisturise
Moisturizing the body becomes essential in winters as it loses the moisture faster making the skin dry and rough. Look for oil-based moisturizers over water-based products so that oil forms a protective layer on your skin. Choose moisturizer consisting almond, primrose or avocado oils. You can also use olive oil to keep your skin rejuvenated. Let your skin stay moist! Don't forget to moisturize it after shower also especially before going to sleep.
Sunscreen is not only for summer
Use mild sunscreen whenever you go out in the sun. I know you love the sun and must be worrying about the tanning it can cause to your skin. A layer of sunscreen protects your skin from sun damage so just embrace the protective layer and move on to kiss the sun.
Take care of your feet
Your feet too need care. It's time to switch to petroleum jelly and glycerine products if you are suffering from painful cracked heels. Yes, don't forget to soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes and apply foot care cream or any petroleum jelly before hitting the bed.
Avoid Hot - soaking baths
I know hot water bath is relieving in chilly weather but try avoiding hot water as much as possible as it drains out most of the moisture from your body instead use Luke warm water that helps in restoring moisture of your body.
Lip care
Lips tend to get really dry and sometimes get chapped and cracked during winters due to dryness and lack of water intake. Be gentle and give them some extra care. If you have chapped lips rub a little bit of coconut oil for faster healing and after that you can apply your favourite natural lip balm which contains SPF. Even those without SPF are also fine!
So all you skin lovers follow these simple winter care routine for a fresh, hydrated, and moisturized skin. And I am sure you will be winter ready anytime.
