ISL which is considered as one of the biggest Football events in the country, has certainly raised the quality of Football in India. The enthusiasm amongst the fans is just fabulous. All the eight teams, Atletico de Kolkata, Chennaiyin FC, Delhi Dynamos FC, FC Goa, FC Pune City, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC and Northeast United FC, are struggling really hard to register wins in the tournament. With each match, the bar of competition is raising higher and higher. Many top class International Football players have come to India to participate in the league. It is just superb to watch them play here in the subcontinent, which is definitely not the hub of Football action.
Among all the teams, one team whose performance is disappointing so far is The Kerala Blasters FC. They were the last year's finalists and runners-up of the Hero Indian Super League season one. But, this season, with just 4 points in their kitty, they are placed at the bottom of the table. The team has played five matches so far and registered just one win out of them. They started their campaign with a win against NorthEast United FC. In fact they played really well in that game. They defeated the NorthEast United FC by 3-1. Throughout the game they were at the forefront and it was in the second half that they scored three goals, one after the other and seized the match. They kept their shape and ran out comfortable 3-1 winners in the end to get their campaign off to a winning start. Their second against Mumbai City FC resulted in the draw. The three matches which they played after this against, Atletico De Kolkata, Delhi Dynamos and the table toppers Goa FC, all resulted in their defeat.
Co-owned by Sachin Tendulkar, Indian cricketing icon, Kerala Blasters started their ISL campaign in style with a staggering win over NorthEast United FC. But, they lost their focus somewhere and got defeated in the subsequent matches. Still, they have 9 matches to play and they can hope to move up the table by winning matches. With players like, Josu, Indian striker Mohammed Rafi and Arsenal camp star Sanchez Watt in their team, Kerala Blasters FC can make a comeback any time. The only thing lacking is the confidence. The team is de-motivated after three loses one after another. Just one win is what the team required to boast their confidence!
