The earliest version of the motorcycle was invented in the early 19th century and derived from the safety features of the bicycle. In 1903 a man by the name of William Harley and the Davidson brothers founded the motorcycle company of Harley Davidson. The first official motorcycle of the Harley Davidson company was sold in Chicago, Illinois in the year 1904. Not far from its birthplace is one of the largest stores in the United States: Harley Davidson of Kansas City, Missouri.
One of the largest inventories of Harley Davidson exists here in the United States. Choose from a variety of models anywhere to help satisfy your biker dream. The models to choose from include Touring, Softail, Dyna, Sportster, and Street bikes. These motorcycles are manufactured in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Missouri, Brazil, and India. Safety is the number one priority of the group, and activities are planned to ensure safe riding adventures for members of all riding levels.
Bikers for Babies is one of highest garnering fundraisers that Harley Davidson is known for. Imagine if the hardest day of your life was your first. Many babies are born too soon or with life-threatening difficulties. About 38,0000 babies are born each year in the United States. Each week, there are over 8,700 babies who are born premature and about 470 babies die before their first birthday. Half the number of babies who are born prematurely have an unknown reason as to why. The number one killer of infants is premature birth. Along these same lines, the average medical cost for a baby born premature is close to $55,000. Bikers for Babies is one of the largest sponsors for the March of Dimes in helping to raise money for these babies.
The money raised by Bikers for Babies helps to support families with premature babies who have extended stays in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) as well as funding research to find life-saving cures. The event Bikers for Babies is similar to the March of Dimes walk. For each dollar raised, $0.88 goes towards The March of Dimes. Since the first Bikers for Babies ride occurred in 1995, over $7 million has been raised to go towards The March of Dimes. Come be a part of one of the greatest rides each year in the United States.
