Installing the best made water slides and creating a wonderful Waterpark, or Aquatic Center is just the beginning as you well know. Each year there is so much to do in the off-season, so much expense. Who can afford to have their slides and features re-painted every year? No one, that's who. And besides, once a slide is painted, it looks painted, and will soon look worse than before it was painted. Regardless of the quality and make, water slides are subject to damages; thanks to the friction caused by the innumerable swim-suit clad bodies, exposure to the sun's harsh UV rays and of course, the water flow itself.

Yes, water slides are strong and well-built, but they can start looking bad even within the first year of operation.  Water slide color maintenance is becoming an issue of more and more importance as Park owner/operators strive to find new ways to exceed expectations.

Here's what you will possibly find.

Bumps, Curves and more

            •           New water slides mostly come with a protective gel coating, which not only protect the slides from damage, but also provide them with an attractive appearance. However, this "excellent" gel coating also succumbs to wear and tear over time. The fiber glass gets exposed when the gel wears off. It protrudes through the laminate surface, thus, causing the common problem of fiber bloom. These rough spots are an obstruction to a smooth ride. So, keep your eyes open for these rough spots.

            •           The seams on the slide are highly prone to damage. Damaged seams cause the panels to fall out of alignment and create positive or negative seams, which can hurt the rider significantly. Take a close look at the seams.

            •           Often, water gets clogged between the fiberglass and resin, thus, creating tiny bumpy-like structures on the water slide. These need to be corrected for the rider to enjoy an unobstructed ride.

            •           Damages on water slides often take the form of huge cracks. Cracks mostly indicate structural damage, so, address it before it becomes a gigantic problem.

            •           Apart from the water flow and friction with bodies, there's the unavoidable sunlight and its harsh UV rays, which cause significant damage to the water slides. You would have seen the glorious colors of your water slides fade away over time. The harsh UV rays also cause scaling over time, which is a nuisance for the riders.

With time and use, the water slides not only lose their glory, but also succumb to innumerable factors. For a bigger slice of the industry pie, it is essential to begin water slide color restoration efforts at once, a crew of two can re-store an entire Park quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. The result would be water slides glistening and functioning as good as the new ones.
