Ideas for Half Term UK Hotel Breaks

Half term is looming, and parents all over the country are wondering how on earth they're going to keep their kids amused. Most areas have events organised, and there are always stand-by treats like the cinema or bowling, but will that stretch through the holiday?

If there aren't enough events locally, why not organise a trip to one of the major attractions around the country? If you make it one of your 2016 hotel breaks, staying at a hotel for the night before and after, you can take away the stress and have an experience the whole family can enjoy.

Going to the Zoo

Most children love a visit to the zoo, and there are some spectacular ones around the country. London Zoo is one of the most famous zoos in the world, but if you want to stay out of London, there are others.

Chester Zoo has been named best zoo in Britain and seventh-best in the world by TripAdvisor. Besides the large and varied collection of animals, children can get involved in some of the conservation work the zoo undertakes.

The London Experience

London has more attractions than you can count. Children will be fascinated by the Changing of the Guard, and even more by the bloody history of the Tower of London.

London Zoo is spectacular, but London also offers an unexpected range of opportunities for children to experience nature at the capital's many city farms. You could take in a show — many of the shows on in the West End are child-friendly — and shop till you drop on Oxford Street. There'll be far more to do than you have time for.
