Continued from Part One.
Roswell and Alternative Explanations
In the Executive Summary of the USAF document "The Roswell Report: Fact Vs Fiction In The New Mexico Desert" (1995), the document that tried (but failed) to establish a Project Mogul balloon train as the most likely explanation for Roswell, most likely since even they stated outright they could not prove Project Mogul was the smoking gun, they did include a section titled "WHAT THE ROSWELL INCIDENT WAS NOT" (their caps). They stated that Roswell was NOT...
"An Airplane Crash"
"A Missile Crash"
"A Nuclear Accident"
Of course they also said it was not "An Extraterrestrial Craft", but that was to be taken as a given since they could hardly be expected to say otherwise.
Roswell and Alternative Explanations: An Airplane Crash
Skeptics can't deny that something crashed near Roswell, the usual suspect being a balloon or balloon train. Of course that's nonsense since even the Little Old Lady from Pasadena could tell balloon material apart from metallic materials. So the obvious alternative is a terrestrial aircraft that bit the dust. But that analysis is flawed.
The analysis is flawed because apparently the military wasn't even aware that anything had crashed until that ranch foreman (Brazel) alerted the police who in turn alerted the military. If the Roswell event had been an aircraft crash, be it a secret under-active-development aircraft or an ordinary military aircraft the military would have been aware that something was amiss quick-smart. If it had been a commercial plane crash that too would have been immediately obvious.
In any event, if it had of been an under-active-development secret military aircraft there would hardly have been a reason to keep it secret all of this time. That top secret aircraft would by now be so absolutely yesterday's technology. Sorry, the options are balloon debris or extraterrestrial debris. And I have to repeat again and again and again, military officers would NOT confuse the two. To claim otherwise is absurd.
Roswell and Alternative Explanations: A Top Secret Military Airplane Crash
Skeptics obviously believe the USAF when they say the Roswell incident was NOT an extraterrestrial craft, but some don't believe that same USAF when they say the Roswell incident was NOT an aircraft accident on the grounds that it is easier to mistake a crashed metallic terrestrial aircraft for an extraterrestrial one vis-à-vis mistaking balloon material for metallic debris. However, such a position is inconsistent. That's adopting a double standard. That's speaking with forked-tongue and being a bit two-faced and stating just a bit of a contradiction don't you readers think? Anyway, if you are convinced the Roswell event is explained because it was just a terrestrial aircraft (or some type of other), then skeptics need to provide some sort of convincing argument. Oh, don't bother telling me. Tell the USAF. They'd be delighted to hear from the skeptics directly and their conclusions since obviously they know what the USAF don't know.
Now, let's assume for sake of argument that the Roswell crash event was the crash of some highly top secret military aircraft. Roswell was the most elite military unit in the entire area so if any military personnel were to be in the loop, they would have been. Be that as it may. By now, some close to seven decades later, that once-upon-a-time highly top secret military aircraft would be so yesterday's technology that it would have been placed in a museum decades ago; the Roswell debris put on public display; the be-all-and-end-all of the Roswell mystery solved; case closed. Now why haven't the powers-that-be thought of that? Why did the USAF in 1995 specifically state that it was NOT an aircraft crash if in fact it was an aircraft crash? Why drag out the mystery, the uncertainty, if there is no uncertainty? Be that as it may, there is also another logical reason why the Roswell incident was NOT the crash of a top secret military aircraft. There was a lag time of several days between the time the debris was found by the ranch foreman and the time the Roswell base personnel were notified. The reason was that the ranch foreman did not have access to a telephone. Recall this was a remote rural area in 1947 and phones weren't as universal as they are today. The ranch foreman had to wait for a work-related opportunity to go into town and hence notify the police in person. That was several days after-the-fact. The police notified the Roswell base and as they say, all else is history. Now why is this important? Any flight of any aircraft has to be planned in advance; a flight plan logged. Whatever military unit this alleged top secret aircraft belonged to would have been aware of the flight, where it was going, and when it was due back. When it failed to return, there would have been an immediate search-and-rescue operation launched, especially given that it was a TOP SECRET military aircraft. The crash site and remains would have been found and dealt with and the scenario of the ranch foreman finding the debris first, waiting several days for an opportunity to go into town and notify the police would have never happened.
Roswell and the Nature of the Debris
Some skeptics argue that if the Roswell debris was found on Planet Earth, it therefore must be terrestrial, therefore not extraterrestrial. Let's see, by that logic (or lack thereof), meteorites are terrestrial. Cosmic rays are terrestrial. Neutrinos are terrestrial. Any SETI signal would have to be terrestrial. In short, anything and everything found on Earth must be part and parcel of the Earth. Good call that! Okay, even accepting that the debris recovered was terrestrial in nature, skeptics still have the can-of-worms regarding the alien bodies. Surely they are not idiotic enough to suggest that something with the appearance of a "Grey" is terrestrial in origin.
So the only point I'm really making here is that just because something is found or detected here on Planet Earth doesn't of necessity mean that it doesn't have an out-of-this-world origin. Surely the limited abilities that skeptics have with logic can cope with that simple statement.
Roswell: How Could Technologically Sophisticated Aliens Crash?
Aliens cross interstellar space to Planet Earth only to crash at Roswell. That seems rather an absurd scenario. Please explain.
Firstly, accidents happen. Cars crash even with sober adults in command. Boats sink. Aircraft crash. Newspaper reports fill the presses daily with stories of accidents. ET is a fallible entity, not an infallible deity.
However, that's not the most logical explanation IMHO. Now let's assume that it is June 1947 and that you, the reader are in charge of the defense of the USA. It is your job to ensure that America is well protected and can defend itself against all agents, foreign and domestic. All of a sudden you get dozens of reports of unidentified flying objects invading American airspace. The experts tell you that they are real, as in things artificial, under intelligent control. You absolutely know that they are not American. Your best guess is that, this being 1947, they are Russian. What are you going to do? You are going to order the military to challenge these objects, force them to land, and if they do not, you will order them to be terminated - shot down. You could and should do nothing less, otherwise you would be derelict in your duties as officer-in-charge of the national defense. Fast forward several weeks to July 1947 and the skies over the American south-west. The military picks up on one or more of these mysterious UFOs. They intercept. They challenge. These craft ignore that challenge. They get shot down. They crash near Roswell. The rest, as they say, is history.
As far as shooting down the aliens, what's the saying, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". Just because the military caught them by surprise and flatfooted once, doesn't mean it would happen again and from then on in.
Roswell and Evidence
I don't have to present any further evidence for Roswell on the grounds that I have already waxed lyrical on the subject several times over as well as what's contained in the above. The main reason I don't have to present any evidence is that the evidence already exists out there in the public arena, available to anyone and everyone who can be bothered to get up off of their butt and do their own damn research!
But here are a few more comments about Roswell. Just because the powers-that-be know for absolute certain the extraterrestrial hypothesis (ETH) is no hypothesis but reality - they do have the on-the-slab-in-the-lab proof positive - doesn't mean they know anything about ET's agenda, game-plan or what their long-term interests are, so the data gathering must go on - eternal vigilance is always the order of the day and that's the name of the powers-that-be response and readers should be thankful that as private citizens that that is so.
Roswell: A Summation for the Skeptics
Attention Roswell skeptics! Let's play the game of "Please Explain".
Please Explain: How is it that the ranch foreman who found the initial Roswell debris found it unusual enough to end up going out of his way to notify the local police?
Please Explain: How is it that numerous military personnel (plural) failed to distinguish balloon materials from debris from a "flying disc"?
Please Explain: Why has several declassified FBI documents confirmed the recovery of "flying discs" (plural) and the Roswell event?
Please Explain: How is it that some very senior officers (colonel and above) have verified (post retirement) that the mundane Roswell event explanation was indeed a cover-up for the real deal?
Please Explain: Why have witnesses (plural) maintained their story of alien bodies and out-of-this-world materials right up to the time of their ultimate deaths?
Please Explain: If the Roswell debris were ordinary balloon stuff, why was it all shipped to Fort Worth hence on to Wright Field for analysis, transportation which is on the public record?
Please Explain: Why did the Government Accounting Office (GAO) uncover the fact that all USAF documents pertaining to the Roswell event were either missing, lost, unavailable or destroyed? That too is on the public record.
Please Explain: Why was Goldwater banned from seeing the good stuff behind closed doors at Wright-Patterson AFB unless there was some actual meat on the Roswell bone? That's on the public record.
Please Explain: Why did the Roswell base intelligence officer (Major Marcel) make an unscheduled detour home after collecting some of the Roswell debris to show his wife and 11 year old son (waking him up in the process) if the Roswell materials were just ho-hum stuff and not extraordinary in structure and substance? That too is on the public record.
Please Explain: Why was the Roswell base commander (Colonel Blanchard) never disciplined over the recovery of the "flying disc" press release he dictated and ordered released and distributed? Instead, he rose to the rank of four-star general and the second highest ranking position in the USAF. He might have risen higher had he not died of a heart attack sitting behind his Pentagon desk. Of course that too is on the public record.
Skeptics have a very, very long road to hoe yet before they even remotely explain away or debunk the Roswell incident.
