The debate of India is tolerant and intolerant kicked off when president of the United States of America Barack Obama addressed India as intolerant. Specified it as a country struggling with communal divide and violence where minorities were facing difficult time in the Hindu majority state. This statement of POTUS gave enough fodder to the opposition party to take a dig on the ruling one. Since then it has become a cliche used for any decision going against anybody. For example, if you disagree with on something with someone, the belief of agree to disagree will be termed intolerant. Today the scene is such that people, for their personal benefit are not hesistant to resorting to claim anything against their will as hovering intolerance in the country. This is not only hazardous for themselves, but for the nation largely. The recent Bihar election was fought aiming the very concern, which later on seemed more manufactured than literally. The award wapsi brigade, which went on rampage after Dadri's mob lynching incident ended their agitation after verdict came on to the floor of reality. The BJP was shown the door by the people of Bihar and Lalu Yadav, who is a convict, sailed through along with Nitish Kumar, who became CM in an ally called as Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan, that also constituted Congress, bagging highest number of seats than anticipated.
Largely, ousting of BJP from recent elections was referred to growing communal tensions and intolerance. Megastar ShahRukh Khan on being inquired about the same matter nodded in the sequence of so called award wapsi artists including writers, film makers etc. Although, he was instantly served with nasty comments and to an extent was asked to leave for Pakistan. The fringe elements from different communities came across each other and begin to counter each other with bad slangs and name calling.
Political parties began to take credit and discredit others on various issues related to the same context. Congress's heir Rahul Gandhi also took advantage of this situation and massively campaigned and toured various places to make sure the trend of intolerance doesn't die. However, in his recent visit to Bengaluru's high profile Mount Carmel college, where today's generations' actresses Deepika Padukone and Anushka have studied didn't go to well. Mr. Gandhi tried to fetch on ongoing momentum in his favor with a few queries blaiming the central government, but was slammed back when students denied his intentions, which were wrapped in trap of political ambitions. On the contrary he was blamed for not being a percursor on many serious things going in the country. Most recent controversy on India's tolerance level once again erupted and this time by Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, when he was seen and heard quoting at award ceremony of journalism's highest honor in India Ramnath Geonka that his wife was out of fear and intoerance since 6-8 months wanted to leave India. It's still a very debatable and discussed thing.
