The above shows how vital it is to know what you are buying, if you want your Orchids to thrive each year.  How to grow Orchids Outdoors Orchids naturally grow in a humid climate.  You need to know which Orchids will grow in your region, to mimic the exotic natural environment which is found in the rainforest.  To get the best result, situate the Orchids in an area with slightly more light than the ones indoors, and shield them from the sun, part of the day.  You must make sure to bring them in if the temperature goes below 60 degree Fahrenheit or (15.5 degree Centigrade).  In all plants they have a blooming cycle and a quiet period.  In the quiet period the plant is growing new leaves and is storing up energy for the blooming cycle.   Tips to think about Below are some tips on how to nature you're Orchid from the quiet period to the blooming cycle:

• By using room temperature water give the plant a good watering once in a while, but, let the water flow through so that they are not standing in the water.

• In the quite period, and if, you have had the Orchid for a year or two, the plant needs repotting.

• After the Orchid has bloomed you can leave the spike on the plant and keep feeding it.  Sometimes the spike may bloom again.

• Spray the leaves also the exposed roots often, about several times a week. The roots are fine growing above or over the pots.

• When watering, make sure your Orchid pot can drain well. This could be hanging the Orchid or placing it in a saucer with gravel in it.

• Always avoid direct sunlight, this can overheat the plant, also don't place the pot near a furnace vent.

• During the summer hang the plant out under a tree this will give it humidity and indirect sunlight. Keep watering and feeding it. But, make sure when the night temperature reaches low of 50 Degrees Fahrenheit or high of 40 Degrees Fahrenheit.
