Come this December and the Tennis action will begin in the Asian continent. Yes! Asia's biggest Tennis event, IPTL has returned. The International Premier Tennis League will get a kick start in December this year. Bringing Asia on the map of Tennis, IPTL has been making waves around the world since its first season in 2014. The league has been founded by Indian Tennis star player, Mahesh Bhupati, who wanted to bring the high-quality Tennis in the Asian demography. The one-of-its-kind Tennis tournament, IPTL has successfully managed to garner lot of support and encouragement from across the globe. The last season was such a huge hit. Fans from all over the world had come to the different cities of Asia to witness their favorite players, playing live on Asian soil. Season one, saw four teams, representing four Asian countries, India Aces, Singapore Slammers, Philippine Mavericks and UAE Royals, playing against each other to lift the coveted trophy of IPTL. This year, we will see a new entrant in the form of Japan Warriors, representing Japan.
Along with the new teams, we will also see many new faces in the teams. Some more international players are joining the league. Each team will have a Marquee/Legend player. And, Philippine Mavericks have managed to roped in Serena Williams, this time to play for their teams. Maria Sharapova has changed her side from Philippine Mavericks to Japan Warriors. After losing Sharapova to Japan Warriors, the Philippines Mavericks successfully roped in Serena Williams in their team, who played for Singapore Slammers in the first season. She will be joined by the big server Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, single-handed backhand specialist Richard Gasquet, exciting player Sabine Lisicki, feisty Jarmila Gajdosova, doubles specialist Treat Huey and the captain Mark Philippoussis.

She has a record of holding the most major singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles amongst active players, male and females.
