The Golden Compass
It is a fantasy adventure movie released in 2007 to tell the story of Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards), a girl from a fantasy world just like our own. Standing tall in her universe is an antagonist, Magisterium who wants to end tolerance. Lyra sets off on a journey towards the end of North in search of her best pal and several other children who have been kidnapped by an unknown organisation who have ulterior motives. The battle is perilous but the young girl seems determined to fight it out in this Chris Weitz direction.
Yes Man
This 2008 comedy film is about a guy, Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) whose life is in a mess after divorce making him a negative person until he is compelled to opt for a self-help programme. The aim was to open his mind to the newer possibilities and unleash the power of saying yes to transform his life in unexpected ways. This does not only gets him promotion at work but also opens a door towards another romantic relationship with Allison (Zooey Deschanel). The only problem occurs when he starts becoming too good by embracing every opportunity that comes his way. See how he overcomes it and puts life back on track.
Constantine
Designated as a supernatural action thriller, this 2005 flick is the tale of a man named John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) who is an exorcist with an ability to communicate with both the half-demons and half-angels at the same time in their truest form. His extraordinary gift lands him in trouble and he tries to commit suicide until his life finds its meaning in trying to help a police detective, Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) who is looking into the demise of her sister. This film released in 1993 talks about a man named Mitch McDeer who finishes Harvard Law School with flying colours. The truth comes to light only when he starts working with Avery Tolar (Gene Hackman) to know that the firm is into organised crime with a man named Joey Morolto (Paul Sorvino) at the helm.
