Our leaders need to be good communicators. This goes a long way when a leader has to put the message across to all employees or the team. Communication styles will differ from one group to another and with each individual. Leadership communication skills need to be changed according to the audience and this poses a big responsibility on part of the leader.

Another critical point of human resource management comes when the leader has to treat everyone as human. Leaders have the responsibility to show emotional quotient towards their employees. Employees look up to someone who understands them and their problems and can empathise with them.

Taking accountability for everything is being part of a good leader. Whether you have achieved results or failed, a leader cannot blame the team but be accountable for everything. Give credit to team members who have worked hard and showed potential. But a leader cannot blame someone if something goes wrong because it is the job of the leader to correct that person before anything wrong happens.

The most critical responsibility on the shoulders of a leader in managing the human resource is to ensure that team members and employees are happy doing what they have been assigned and if there are any grievances, the leader needs to sort them out. Unhappy and unsatisfied human resource can lead to disruption of a task, and disintegrated human relations.
