Jussie Smollett's Empire

Jussie Smollett's Empire success may come as a surprise to some yet the singer/actor would explain that he has been working hard for a very long time.  The 32-year-old actor and singer played in his first major role in 1992's 'The Mighty Ducks'.  Fast-forward a decade plus and his success on Empire has finally granted him the recognition he deserves.

The Smollett Family

Jussie comes from a family of actors.  In 1994 Smollett starred alongside his siblings in the show 'On Our Own'.  His sister Jurnee has enjoyed a wonderful career, playing in 'Full House' along with numerous other major movies and television shows. 

Season 2

Empire's second season catapulted Jussie's career to the next-level.  He has signed with Columbia Records and Pepsi, and the future cannot look brighter for the star.

Columbia Records

When asked what he enjoyed about the music industry former president of Columbia Records, Clive Davis explained that it was the first appraisal aspect of the industry, being able to spot something special in someone and then watching what they become.

Anyone that has seen Jussie Smollet perform understands that he is the industry's next big star.  Watching him sing alongside average singers may not have convinced but then witnessing him hold his own alongside Alicia Keys had to do it! 

Pepsi

From Michael Jackson to Beyonce to Nicki Minaj, Pepsi certainly knows how to choose the industry's best talent.  The company has benefitted greatly from collaborating with the biggest superstars in the world therefore selecting Jussie Smollett was a no-brainer.  

Last year, Pepsi announced that it had become an official sponsor of the Empire TV show for $20 million.  The amazing part is that Jussie Smollett has accomplished something that no other celebrity has in regard to Pepsi: Not only did his character on the Empire TV show become the new face of the soda company, Pepsi also named Smollett the "Next Pepsi Artist" therefore he is truly enjoying the best of both worlds!

Empire fans will not only see Pepsi commercials featuring Smollett within the show's storyline, the talented star will also appear, as himself, during the show's commercial breaks.
