Out of the many top bikes India that are present in the market today, the 180cc segment does seem to be a crowded place. There have been many bikes to have entered this space but not many have been able to stay strong here for long. There are bunch of points to look at when you plan to invest in a bike, and very few of them come with a complete package. Here is a list of the top bikes to choose from in this category:

1. Apache RTR 180: While the RTR stands for Rapid Throttle Response, the bike does leave us asking for more. A good bike for sure, but improvements have been pending for long. A top speed of 125kmph and a poor handling and stability makes it the first entry to the best bike in the 180cc segment. There are plenty of positives with the styling, design and the mileage, but the size of the bike and the handling stop it from being the best. The price tag of Rs 90,000 is a bit of a push against it too.

2. Suzuki Gixxer: Definitely a good suggestion if you are trying out the new bikes on the block. It is a brilliant variant in today's market and has many changes from the past bikes from Suzuki. With 155cc and 14bhp, the bike does the job on the street but is not a complete package on the highway. With a good design and improved styling, you would not be pointed at too much for wrong reasons. The lack of great servicing options and the maintenance could raise question marks too.

3. Duke 200: Yes, it is a little overpowered to be in this segment, but it just about makes the cut because of the performance. It is a wonderful bike if you know how to handle a bike well. It can be quite vicious on the road so having good control is a must have. With 200cc and 25bhp, it is a great powerhouse. It is on the higher side on pricing with a retail price of Rs 1.4Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), it pinches the wallet and is not the safest bike on the road.

4. Bajaj Pulsar 180NS: One of the best bikes in the market today with amazing performance. A mileage that is 45kmpl serves perfect for in city riding too. The styling and the design has been done well and is a proven player in the market. Bajaj has dominance in terms of servicing centre's too and maintenance is very easy. There have been many upgrades in the bike too over a period of time and each has given one breakthrough after another. Ever since the first launch of the Bajaj 180cc bike in early 2000s, the bike has never stopped to surprise us.

5. Bajaj Avenger 180: With the new styling and looks, this bike is without doubt the best option in the market today. The facelift has given it a more stunning design and the refined engine has given it a better mileage that before. With the same engine as the 180cc NS on the pulsar, it has great efficiency and promised a perfect balance for city and highway riding. Not many bikes would be able to challenge the performance the Avenger 180 can give today.

If you have been thinking about getting a new 180cc bikes India, this list would give you a clear idea on the way ahead. Power, mileage, design and maintenance are the most important aspects to choosing a bike and should be on your list of points when you are buying a bike.
