After the huge success of Geetanjali, director Raaja Kiran is back with yet another suspense thriller Tripura. Starring the bubbly actress Swathi and Naveen Chandra, this film has hit the screens today. Let's see how the film turns out to be.
Story: -
Tripura (Swathi) is a beautiful village that gets strange dreams that turn out to be true in real life. Seeing the health of Tripura, his father consults a psychiatrist (Naveen Chandra) in Hyderabad. During his treatment in the city, Tripura Naveen falls in love with and eventually married with the consent of his parents. As time passes, Tripura keep getting those dreams, until she sees Naveen kill with a knife. What will Tripura do now? Will his feared came true? -T She really kill her husband in real life too? Which forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points: -
Swathi is undoubtedly the main attraction of Tripura. She throws her image girl next door and a confidential serious role. It is exceptionally good in the emotional scenes and beautiful expressions portrayed as a woman confused at home.Naveen Chandra is appropriate and performs well in a key role. The young actor is very good at the climax and brings a lot of depth to the film. First half of the film and the different elements of comedy during this period were well executed.Sapthagiri is impressive with its comedy and manages to evoke decent laughs. Climax is quite interesting and the way all the twists are revealed is also good. Rao Ramesh is apt that the head doctor.
Negative points: -
Although the suspense factor is maintained until the end, the procedures are too stretched. There was absolutely no need to drag the film for so long. Manufacturers have tried to add some commercial elements and introduced Shakalaka Shankar and Jaya Prakash Reddy for comic relief. The episode of the comedy that comes during this time is routine and spoil the flow of the film.Running Time is also an issue and a song in the second half makes things difficult. The story is a simple point and complex scenario makes the procedures go on and on.Much clarity has been provided on the dreams of swathi and episodes that bring value needs more depth. All those who believe that Tripura is a horror film will be disappointed.Technical aspects:-
camera work is very good and highlights areas extremely well. written dialogues are decent and so was the background score. Music of the film is below par and a romantic song in the second half could have easily changed. Manufacturers should be made even clearer the movie suspense thrillers are very difficult to maintain as long.Kona Venkat scenario is pretty average. He says too many scenes and deflects the subject. Coming to the Director Raaja Kiran, he had a decent story with great suspense. He even starts well and the film also ends very engaging. But halfway through, it goes a little untidy and loses focus on the script.
Verdict:-
On the whole, Tripura has some interesting moments here and there. Swathi performance, the concept and the climax are core strengths. But it is the story that drags on too long film path and spoils the concept of grip. All those who like suspense thrillers will end up loving it, but otherwise, it's just a case below average and can watch this movie if they have nothing else to do.
