Story: -
Basawa (Chaswa) is a feared gangster who falls in love with Maithili (Daksha). He keeps all his ruin marriage proposals and these terrible incidents take a toll on the health of Maithili completely. To improve things, the brother of Maithili she moves to a small town in Karnataka. There she falls in love with a small time entrepreneur Skanda (Dileep). Twist in the tale arises when Basawa is the same village and discovers Maithili and her love story. What the couple do now? How will they earn their love? Which forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points: -
major advantage of the film is the female lead Daksha. It is certainly a find and will go a long way in his career. Daksha is beautiful and wonderful door emotions throughout the film. For a newcomer, it is very good and all his scenes with Dileep came out well.Kalyan Koduri background score is another asset of the film. It is because of its captivating score of the film is raised to a decent level. The production values are good and fresh visual captivating look. Hero Dileep did a decent job for his first film, but unfortunately it does not get enough opportunities to perform.First half has some moments of gripping and some comedy scenes featuring Jabardasth Raghava and Rakesh decent evoke laughter. The two actors are trying to save the movie with their histrionics. The main villain plays his role well Chaswa and has the potential to go all the way.
Negative points: -
In some of his last interviews, Teja revealed Hora Hori is like a rehash of Jayam which is quite true. But unfortunately it is a very old fashioned attempt that has no required elements. After establishing the character of the wicked so strongly during the first Teja dilutes its role and make it ineffective. The film is a roller coaster effect and after every interesting scene, the procedure takes a severe beating with a few routine and boring scenes. Although the film has enough emotions, they are not carried through to the end. You feel disappointed with the predictable script and narration Teja routine.Film pace is slow enough that the procedures have their own time to reveal. Climax is too cleashed and has nothing new to offer. History is quite old and has not much exciting his way.
Technical aspects:-
the camera work is amazing that the locations and the effect of rainfall was presented beautifully. The production values are quite good that the film is in place is decent. Teja The scenario is a huge disappointment that the film falls flat with some scenes obsolete and routine.Music by Kalyan Koduri is superb, as all the songs were written and well drawn. Editing is below par that the film is a bit too long for a single plot. Teja could have been the crisp case, instead he tells the film in its own rhythm and spoils the essence of the story.
Verdict:-
Overall, Hora Hori has an interesting premise and it is good in bits. Other than the nice visuals and engaging background score, the procedure are left out by routine story, the slow narration and a cliche climax. If you watched Jayam and Hora Hori is exactly on these lines but the problem is it is very old and can be safely ignored this weekend.
