WHO TAKES THE LAST BITE?January 2, 2016.
I've heard stability is the key. It rationalizes the chaos in our hearts? Or so I've heard. But the thing about being stable is that you tend to get more comfortable with the never- ending stand-stillness around. You cant seem to get out of an awkward friendship, a messy relationship or sometimes even an over- dramatic family feud. You realize that you are the one who is always sharing even though you know you might never get a bite of your favorite candy-bar, a say in your favorite Dante Alighieri's poetic masterpiece, or to ride shot gun with your family because your brothers aren't "comfortable" sitting behind.Trust me when I say this, being comfortable is a trap. It feels like the 4th of July when you get there but then imagine everyday being the 4th of July? It gets loud and frustrating on every decibel. That's when you cannot appreciate anything happening around. Everything seems just fine for you. A birthday with no cake and an ordinary day where you find an extra piece of cake in your refrigerator becomes the one and the same. You loose the words "extraordinary, phenomenal, stupendous, exceptional" among the shackles of the words "familiar, humdrum,run-of-the-mill" and so on.So what do you do?Trade your boxers with a pair of ripped jeans instead. Both don't cover much anyway.Trade comfortable dates with ones challenging. The ones where you find the need to be your best beautiful and the ones where you don't need to look like a diva wrapped in gold foil because you have them brains.Trade your fear of dogs with the actual accptance of acknowledging the fact that dogs are wonderful pets opposed to the monsters you intend them to be.In the end fear is as deceptive as comfort. It stops you from getting things done. It stops you from moving. If you find yourself in a place outside your skin, trust me you're getting there. To that place where you always wanted to be. A comfortable place. Comfortable? Did i say that right? yes I did. "A comfortable place where you are comfortable knowing and believing that you create things and make them comfortable for yourself" So Why is that last bite always lingering?Because you devour it patiently, encompassing every bite because you are well aware of it's numbered time in your hand and that its the last piece. And hence you leave no crumbs.
