Plus Points: -
With Nannaku Prematho, NTR stuns you with its emotional performance. This is probably the best performance of NTR to this day that the young tiger triggered a new facet of his caliber. From the first image, NTR nails with its elegant style and classy act. It is exceptionally good and wears his emotions with the right balance. NTR needs to be appreciated for out of his comfort zone and accept such a film.
Yet another major asset of the film is Jagapathi Babu. Without him, the film would not come out the way it did. The veteran actor made his villainous act to the "T" and excels in his role. Subtle expressions and attitude Babu makes the procedure quite interesting. All his confrontational scenes with NTR were designed exceptionally well by Sukumar.Brownie Points music movies because there is no bloodshed and unnecessary violence in the film. Preet Singh Rakul looks gorgeous and makes her role supremely well. She looks apt that the rich NRI and its own dubbing is also impressive.Block interval and the last half hour is high on emotions and absorbs you completely. The production values are superb. Rajeev Kanakala gets a meaty role after a long time and works well.
Negative points: -
Nannaku Prematho is a film class and the masses could find it very difficult to digest certain facts. While NTR is superb in the film, the dialogues and regular punching dances, it is usually associated with are completely missing in this film. Film pace is a little slower than the movie takes its time to unravel.
Some scenes featuring affection between NTR and his father were executed to make the story more credible. As the topic is quite serious, scope for comedy was also less and those who expect it as a special Sankranthi entertainer could be disappointed.First 15 minutes and the whole episode featuring Rakul Preet and his mother would have been softened down and edited on. This episode seems out of place and eats most of the execution time.
Technical aspects: -
Devi Sri Prasad's music is about right that all the songs are about the situation. How they were shot and executed are below par. At least 10 minutes during the beginning of the second half were trimmed. Dialogues are superb and emotional. The production values and camera work is top quality as London and its locations were presented in an amazing way.Coming to the Director Sukumar, its brilliance is written on the script as the film has made a gripping means. Right to the scene, he makes quite clear and tells a drama of emotional revenge with sufficient clarity in all its stages.
Verdict:-
Overall, Nannaku Prematho is a film where all unnecessary commercial aspects are set aside and the focus is on content. The strong performance of NTR and emotional content are huge assets. However, the slow pace of the film and the absence of certain elements that are expected by fans and mass audience NTR impede collections to some extent. Finally, Nannaku Prematho is a class act that should do well only with the public A center.
