The process of inspection is done for any fault rate, fabric weight, edge to edge or end to end shading, shrinkage, fabric construction, print defect, hand. Product inspection is a very crucial aspect of modern textile industrial manufacturing. It can be referred to as the inspection of raw materials which are used in garments manufacturing. In order to avoid fabric irregularities and rejection due to fabric quality, manufacturers inspect the stock of the fabric early in the production process. The process of inspection is done for any fault rate, fabric weight, edge to edge or end to end shading, shrinkage, fabric construction, print defect, hand feel, width or length, color, and appearance. In short, the fabric inspection machine is used to inspect the look and feel of the fabric along with its quality.

When you are going to ship a fabric roll, you should be confident that the fabric is of the highest quality. The fabric inspection process ensures to minimize the rejected garments and the rejection of cut panels often happen due to the fabric faults. In this way, not only manufacturer ensures finished garment quality but also improves timely deliveries and efficiency. The whole process of fabric inspection is done in a safe and suitable environment with proper lighting and ventilation.

Different kinds of fabric defects can easily figure out with the help of inspection method applied on the fabric. The missing end, miss pick, kink, double pick, fuzz balls, fine end, fly, hard size, float, coarse end or pick, bar, bad selvedge, end out and chafe are few defects types often occurred in the manufacturing process of garments.

Fabric Inspection Machine is defined as a device used to check the garment if they meet required measurement and quality. It helps to trace the defect source, so that appropriates measures can be taken to make the use of faulty fabric as well. It determines the fabric quality and minimizes the later reoccurrence of the defect. It also forward the data to the proper management levels as to the quality being produces.

The machine usually comes in two different models such as I-TEX and Cyclops. I- TEX is often used for manual operation as it is cost- effective, faster and reliable way to inspect the fabric. It further comes in four different categories which include I-TEX 1000, I-TEX 2000, I-TEX 2000D and Loom TEX. The advantages of using I-TEX machine include – substantial saving on operation and inspection expenses, reduced customer claims, accessible andaccurate data quality, and consistent and reliable quality standards.

Another fabric inspection machine model is Cyclops in which inspection unit use a moving image acquisition head attached on the off- loom above the roll of the fabric. An illumination unit and a camera have installed in it by which the fabric image is taken and forwarded to the image processing unit at an interval of pre- defined positions. Proprietary algorithms are applied to detect deviations from standard and to analyze the fabric texture. Calibration software is also used to optimize the settings of illuminations and camera. Lower work-load, 100% detection of defects, higher fabric quality, free from human perception and real-time defect detection are some of the attractive benefits of Cyclops.
