You should send out invitations about a month before the event. Choose at least 30-35 of your friends, family members, colleagues, or neighbors that you want to invite. You could create an elegant event with wine and cheese, or you can serve your favorite appetizers and tantalizing desserts.

Timing

Some companies will have a presentation that they give at the beginning of the party. If you only have 2-3 hours for the party, it would be wise to nix the presentation and any structure. Have an open house to allow your guests to come and go during the party time. If you have your party during holiday season, such as Christmas or Mother's Day, your guests can use the time to shop for the perfect gifts for their loved ones.

Display

When setting up your display, you want to spread out your merchandise as much as possible. There shouldn't be any overlap, so people can quickly browse through the items that you have available. You should plan on having about 3-5 items per person. Offer plenty of variety. Organize everything by color, style, price, or whatever way makes sense to you. Make sure to include several mirrors that guests can use to check out how they look with the jewelry.

Atmosphere

People will be more likely to purchase things when you have a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Have a sense of humor and make the event fun for everyone there. When they feel comfortable, they will be more likely to find items that they want to bring home with them.

Change

If you're planning on accepting cash as a form of payment, you need to have plenty of change on hand. Get about $100 of cash in $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills that you can use to make change for the guests. Along with their change, you should have a business card and a box or bag for them to carry home their merchandise.
