Over the years, tattoos have become even more popular with major celebrities like David Beckham getting inked. However, lots of people look at a person with a tattoo and wonder why they decided to ink their skin. José Contreras a well-known Tattoo artist who was born in Caracas – Venezuela and has worked in some of the biggest tattoo studios around the world, talks about the five good reasons to have a tattoo.

1.    For Identify

A lot of people get a tattoo to remember and mark a significant part of their lives, something that they feel portrays them as a person and what identifies their personality. That could be a tattoo of a film, or an animal they like, or even a tattoo of an object. Through that tattoo or tattoos, it will help people learn more about that person.

2.    To Remember Loved Ones Who Have Passed

Paying tribute to someone and remembering them is a great reason to get a tattoo. José Contreras said that a large portion of people who have tattoos will have one that is for a person that has passed. That tattoo could be a face, a name, or even a symbol.

It is very common in the military for a person to have a tattoo of a fallen comrade. It is a way to honor those who lost their lives in battle.

3.    For Art

Tattoos are a great way to appreciate art, something a lot of people without tattoos do not appreciate. One person who is a good example of sharing their love of art is David Beckham. The former Manchester United footballer is one of the most tattooed celebrities on the planet, sharing his love of art with the world. Some people like to keep pictures by well-known artists while other people will travel the world to some of the best tattooists on the planet.

4.    For Profit

Since the recent economic problems around the world, millions of people have been looking for ways to make money and increase their annual income. Some people have turned to taking on a part-time job while others have turned to MLM, but amazingly enough, some people have turned to their body and having it inked to make money.

There have been lots of cases in the media in the past couple of years where people have approached big name companies to sponsor parts of their body. While some people have been given hundreds of dollars to have a tattoo representing a company, others have been paid thousands of dollars. Is it worth it to have a tattoo of a company logo on your body, only you can decide? However, more people are now turning to tattoos for profit, and it seems to be a good money spinner.
