When we delve into the world of promotions for hip hop artists and producers, there are are only a handful of respected and reputable companies leading the way. This does limit the options that artists have. But from my experience, these top hip hop promotions companies do deliver on their promises of getting artists the exposure they need to become more well known on the independent level, as well as getting signed to a record label.

One of the things I always tell artists is that they can't do everything by themselves. I know, I know, you're an artist who thinks that all the record labels and promotion companies in the world are all snakes. While that may be true in some cases, there are actually some honest and reputable indie labels and rap promotion companies that are successful at pushing new artists into the limelight and making stars out of them.

As an artist you have to be willing to delegate certain tasks so you can focus on creating quality music. You can't do that if you're burnt out from managing your own career, booking your own studio time, setting up your own shows, creating the art work for your album, promoting your release dates on your social media, and creating your own website. And of course the list can go on and on.

And some of you who are reading this know exactly what I'm talking about because you are doing exactly that at this moment; due to the fact that you don't trust anyone. But how can you do all things at once and become successful? It's just impossible. The greatest hip hop artists in the world have managers, publishers, attorneys and also a promotional team. Yes a promotional team! If they don't have an in house team they hire a reputable promotion company. Some of you are at the phase now where you want to get your career going and in order for that to happen you need good promotion. You need to hire a company that has good contacts, able to deliver on their promotional promises, is affordable, has excellent customer service, and is willing to go the extra mile to see you become a success.

Now being an author on hip hop culture, and a A&R for many rap artists, I have come across many rap promotional companies over my 17 years of being in the industry. And to tell you the truth most of them are no longer around because they simply weren't good at what they do. Again, there are only three, maybe four reputable companies that exclusively deal with the promotion of rap artists and producers and today I will be reviewing one of them.

Hip Hop Push Media's Review

In this article I will be giving my honest review of an indie giant promotion power house named Hip Hop Push Media, LLC. I am best qualified to give this review because I have purchased many services from them over the span of 8 years, for many of the artists I managed. I don't have any affiliation with them, I've only purchased promotional packages from them, and I'm giving my review as a music industry client. Nothing more, nothing less!

The information I'm giving is based on my experience with them, research and information given to me by other music industry colleagues that have worked with them or were clients of theirs.

Who Is Hip Hop Push Media?

Hip Hop Push Media, LLC is a company that was      founded  in 2009 to help promote artists, producers and dj's. Their initial method of promotion was offline through mediums such as flyers, dvds, compilation cd's, posters, and shows; but after foreseeing that the future of music would be mostly digital, they switched from promoting offline to using digital methods.

Who Are Some Of Their Past Clients?Doing my own research and also speaking with some of their past clients, I found that there were a variety of artists, producers and Dj's Hip Hop Push has given promotional services to. Some of these clients include: Joey Bada$$, Dizzy Wright, Bishop Nehru, J. Pinder, Dj Nu Jerzey Devil, Dj Scratch, Chuuwee, Big KRIT, Born Rebel, Sage The Gemini, Rocko; just to name a few. Have all these artists blown up as a direct result of Hip Hop Push's promotional services? That I can not say for sure, you would have to ask them. Again, I'm only here to tell you what I know as fact and give my honest review.

What Separates Hip Hop Push From The Rest   From Their Competition We think that they supersede their competition in a few ways. They provide quality services in multi-media, they're honest, their services are affordable for new artists, they have excellent customer service, and one of the most important things is that their staff are educated. Why is this important? It's because as an educated company in their field they are able to run their business more efficiently than those who are not educated. When it comes to promotion and marketing in hip hop there are a lot of companies that lack education in that field and suffer because of it.   Your lack of education can only bring you so far in life and in the career that you're in. We know that there are only a handful of people who come from the streets and are able to succeed in music promotion, but there are thousands more who try and fail due to their lack of education. At Hip Hop Push Media I've come to realize that everyone from their top executives; right down to their social media staff and interns have some form of marketing degree or masters. They really know what they're doing.

What Is Your Overall Opinion Of Hip Hop Push Media?

Okay so we have gone through all of the particulars of the company, but now I want to get into my experience with them on several different occasions, over the span of 8 years. My honest opinion is that this is a great company to hire to promote your music and brand. They're a reputable company, they have great customer service, affordable promo packages and they even track all your promo results. Honestly how many hip hop promotional companies you know actually track your promo results for you? Exactly. These guys do it right and have been the "go to guys" for many years.

This is my second time writing about this company because people keep on asking which company is the best at promoting new artists in a way that gets them more fans and recognition, and I always continue to say Hip Hop Push Media. I have purchased many services from this company, and have had record labels, producers, and publishers seek out my artists do to the level of promotions provided by Hip Hop Push. They have a very skilled staff on hand that will walk with you every step of the way. Another thing I liked was being able to customize some of their packages. They allow you to design promo packages based on your budget and needs.

There were a few times that I only wanted radio and magazine promo, and they came up with a quote for that. Another time I only wanted them to do email blasts, social media promo, and music blog features, and they came up with a quote for that specific type of promotion. It's great to have a company willing to put your needs first, and work with you on the budget you have for your artist. This is one of the things that make them the best in the industry.

As for my artists I have seen around 25-40% fan increase . And album and ticket sales have doubled. Mind you this is form their most expensive package called Rap Star. If you want to do it big you have to pay big.

Overall I really enjoyed their services for the many years I've connected with them, and I would recommend their promo packages to any up and coming artist that is serious about taking their career to the next level.
