Jordan a country situated in the Middle East which is surrounded by Muslim countries like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Syria and The West Bank. Although there is a lot of hustle bustle in the neighbor countries, but Jordan manages itself as a peaceful and safe place for visitors and counted in the beautiful countries of the world. The famous ancient city of Petra is among the 7 wonders of Worlds is nowhere but in the same country.

The rose coloured rocks make Petra magnificent destination to visit, large cracked rocks which make the entrance gate in this beautiful city is amazing and the carved temples which simply reflect the culture and civilization of Petra. But, the beauty is not restricted to Petra only, you must visit the following places too while you travelling to Jordan apart from a trip Petra:

1.    Amman:

The heart of Jordan where almost half of the population of the country is settled is somewhat chaotic and interesting. The city is well established and its hustle bustle will definitely attract you. Two days are enough to roam the city and experience a new feel.

Where to go and what to do in Amman:

•    Temple of Hercules: Although only column and podium remains is there still a stunning place to visit.

•    King Abdullah Mosque: The large blue mosque which can shelter 10,000 people at once was a tribute by King Hussein to his father.

•    Roman Amphitheatre: Build almost 1900 years ago; this is the best destination to watch which build in 3 tiers.

2.    Jerash:

Jerash, located 50 km north from Amman is an ancient city where you can find broken walls, column and arches which were build almost 1800 years ago. The destination contains temples, arches, streets, amphitheatres and plazas. You can see the Romanian culture which can be found outside Italy.

What you should know: There is a visitor's place which opens during May to September.

3.    Lot's Cave:

It has a weird biblical story behind the Lot's cave. The story is about a father and his two daughters who escaped them inside the cave, it is said that the daughters get pregnant. Nobody knows what actually the reason was.

4.    Dana nature Reserve:

The Dana Nature Reserve has a huge amount of wildlife and historical sites too. The edge of the reserve starts from Dana stone village where the visitors usually stay. You can roam to the sites like Mountain Trail, Wadi Dana trail, waterfall trail and Rummana Campground.

5.    Aqaba:

If you want to experience diving, then try Aqaba as it is the only site in Jordan where you can access diving. People enjoy sunbathing and relax in warm water at the shores of Aqaba. Aqaba is nice to visit as it is pollution and coral free too.

6.    Bethany Beyond the Jordan:

This site has also a biblical story that Jesus was baptized here by St. John from where the river Jordan meets to the Dead Sea. The historical site is interesting and informative to visit and is considered as 2000 years old.
